When a job needs engineering
Standard scaffold has limits set by the manufacturer. Go past them and someone has to run the numbers. Common triggers are height beyond the tables, heavy loads like brick or stone stacked on the deck, sections that cantilever over a roof or bridge a gap, and scaffold hung from the structure instead of standing on the ground.
Some general contractors and public agencies ask for stamped scaffold drawings on every job, regardless of height. If your submittal list asks for them, we can provide them.
Design and build under one roof
A drawing is only useful if the scaffold in the field matches it. We design scaffold and build it, so the crew that shows up is building from the same plan the engineer signed. Changes in the field go back to the design before they go into the structure.
What we need from you
Send the building elevations or photos, the working heights, what will sit on the deck, and any agency or GC requirements. We'll tell you whether the job needs engineering at all. Plenty of jobs don't, and we'll say so.

When does scaffold need to be engineered?
Usually when it goes past the manufacturer's height or load tables, cantilevers or bridges, hangs from the structure, or when a GC or agency requires stamped drawings. Cal/OSHA sets the rules; the drawings show the design meets them.
How long do stamped drawings take?
It depends on the job's complexity and the engineer's queue. Bring us in early, ideally before your submittal deadline, so drawings don't hold up the start date.
